In one of the latest developments, G7 leaders are the most recent ones to uphold for a socially responsible supply chain. Coalescing the above objectives, G7 has called for a ‘Vision Zero Fund’, which would help improve the working conditions at apparel factories and act as a sort of insurance policy to provide victims of future disasters with appropriate and timely compensation. The G7 also intends to take this effort further by making sure that consumers in the west will be able to use apps that help them to learn about the production history of the clothes that they are considering for purchase. Since the administration of the fund is set to be aligned with the ILO, trade associations in developed nations with representation at the G7 would be required to contribute.
