Popular for workwear, Kolkata based Jiwanram Sheoduttrai Industries is starting a men’s casualwear line for export as well as to cater to the domestic market. It is also starting the manufacturing of branded workwear in collaboration with an American company.
“We are expecting good orders from Europe in casualwear for which sampling are going on. In the initial year our target is to touch Rs. 20 crore export turnover from these products,” shares Alok Prakash, the soft spoken MD of the Group.
The 16 years old SA 8000 certified company under the casualwear line will manufacture men’s jeans, trousers, polo shirts and winter jackets. For the domestic market, the company is planning to introduce head to toe safety wear. The company with 12 factories is active in CSR activities and is involved in maintaining a junior primary school and public health care project, besides other social activities. The group is doing very well in industrial gloves/workwear and it is also into leather goods and chemical business.
