Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) Chairman, M. Duraisamy, asked the powerloom weavers to avail the advantages offered to them through the Government schemes, at the inauguration of the fourth edition of the powerloom product fair ‘TEXPO – 2015’, which was jointly organized by the PDEXCIL and the regional office of the textile commissioner under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Rs. 11,952.80 crore has been allocated by the ministry of textiles for subsidy outflow for the spinning sector, which is just 26 per cent of the total plan outlay.
The exhibitors managed to earn a revenue of Rs. 30-35 lakh during the third edition of the expo, while the current edition is expected to grow in terms of footfall and revenue.
