Lithuania-based high-end women’s wear manufacturing company, Kauno Baltija, which produces goods for big European brands, launched its own women’s wear brand, LOULU ET TU in 2013. It has always been a challenge since then for the company to retain its image as a hybrid company, as manufacturing and brand development are not same. To be able to accommodate these changes in their company, Kauno Baltija has adopted the 3D virtual prototyping solution by Lectra, with which it has been partners since 20 years. The company claims that with Lectra’s 3D virtual prototyping solution, they have been able to reduce development time, facilitate seamless communication at the product development stage, and achieve perfect fit.

To attain a good position among the internationally acclaimed apparel brands, for its brand LOULU ET TU, Kauno Baltija aims to achieve the perfect fit. “Quality cannot exist without perfect fit, fit is now the most important factor in high-end fashion”, said Vidas Butkus, Director, Kauno Baltija. Lectra’s solution enabled the company to visualize, adjust, and virtually grade styles on a 3D avatar, which helped in producing clothes that fir perfectly in every size.
Also, the 3D virtual prototyping solution helped the company incorporate design into their process along with communicating the new brand aesthetic between the designers and in-house patternmakers. “Lectra’s 3D virtual prototyping software provides visibility between the designers who work freelance and our in-house teams, and this allows for early decision making,” says Liuda Malisauskiene, Manager of Construction and Samples, Kauno Baltija.
According to Butkus, the software has also helped in raising the skill-level of their workers and revamping their process.
