Following the minimum monthly wage rise from US $ 128 to US $ 140 for the garment factory workers in Cambodia, the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) has asked the international buyers who import garments from Cambodia to raise garment prices and has also demanded the garment factory workers to increase productivity, to enable the garment factories remain financially stable. The association fears reduction in orders from 2016, following the wage hike, in spite of international brands like H&M, GAP, Adidas, and Levi Strauss promising to continue sourcing from Cambodia.
