Completing 3 decades of its inception, Delhi-based buying house McCoy Sourcing India, is exploring new markets as well as new product categories. The company which has been working with Europe, North America, Australia, is now also focusing on Eastern Europe and Scandinavian countries. “It is always our endeavour to increase our footprint in various markets of the world in terms of offering impeccable service to our clients. At present, our focus is on Eastern Europe and Scandinavian countries.
We have had interactions with various clients from these two regions and given the fact that these markets are relatively untouched in terms of the products being sourced from India, we decided to put our efforts in tapping the market. This was also accelerated by the fact that there is a sizeable consumer base in these markets looking to buy good quality and great designs,”shared Lalit Kitroo, MD, McCoy Sourcing India, with Apparel Online. The buying agency, which is currently sourcing the entire home furnishing range from India, is now expanding its product range and is all set to launch the fur/faux garments and leather accessories into its existing range for its niche clients. “India has a decent supply of raw materials and our craftsmanship is par excellence especially in states of West Bengal and Gujarat. We are deriving inspiration from the folk art of these two regions to work on a range of garments and accessories for our clients,” he added.
Lalit also discussed his views on the future perspective of the company and said, “We are constantly evolving our organization to suit clients’ needs – be it in terms of adding expertise in a particular field to help navigate the focus segments or simply enhancing our service levels to keep up with our core value, became clients’ growth is our growth. So, one has to give his best for better client satisfaction and in this regard, we are planning to have a new liaison office in Kanpur to focus on the next season’s requirements.” McCoy Sourcing India caters to different kinds of buyers known as ‘Masstige’ retailers – those retailers who fall between prestige and mass tiers. They are more into design-oriented products and cater to the upper end, rather than the low value products. “We work across multiple segments, and hence it would be difficult to give a figure of pieces across all segments,” highlighted Lalit. The company is evolving according to the need of the market. With focus on design and quality, it caters to boutiques too.
