Almost every state, whether already having an established garmenting hub or one desirous of becoming a hub, is coming up with incentives to lure the industry to invest… Given a choice, would you prefer the state which is giving good incentives, but has yet to develop the eco-sphere, or would you prefer to go for the established hub, even if the incentives are not as attractive…?

“How did you set up IE Department at you factory? Did you face any problem in setting up the IE Department? How did you set the eligibility criteria for IE staff? Do you feel fresh college pass-outs are a better choice or the experienced ones? What is the staff-strength of your IE Department? What should be the reporting structure? Should an IE report to Production Manager or General Manager?”

Most Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) are recognizing companies based on turnovers, though there are many other exporters who may be small but are doing excellent work in various categories/areas like sustainability, niche products, new processes, innovative working styles…, etc. Do you think that ‘turnover’ alone should be the criteria for awards… If yes, why; and if no, what are the areas that need to be acknowledged and need encouragement?
