Complaints filed against two Gujarat-based yarn manufacturers Prafful Overseas (OP-1) and Welspun Syntex (OP-2) have been dismissed by Competition Commission of India (CCI), which took the decision after it did not find prima-facie evidence of competition norms violations against these two companies. Welspun India to invest Rs. 4,000 crore in 3 textile projects

India-based home textiles manufacturer Welspun India Ltd. has inked three MoUs with the Indian Government at the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017 in Gujarat, India. Welspun decides to closely monitor its Egyptian cotton business

Consumer files complaint against Walmart

A Michigan consumer, Dorothy Monahan, has reportedly filed a complaint in US District Court against Walmart Stores, on the issue of selling products falsely labelled “100% Egyptian Cotton”.  The complaint accuses the retailer of violating US laws governing textile fibre labelling and advertising.
