Indian Government may increase MSP for cotton

India’s Union Agriculture Ministry has reportedly put forward a proposal to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of cotton by Rs. 160 per quintal to Rs. 4,320 for the 2017-18 per quintal this year from Rs. 3,860. BT cotton to boost Bangladesh’s cotton production

Cotton production in Pakistan goes up

Cotton production in Pakistan has noted a slight increase of 9.81 per cent to 10.72 million bales, stated the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA). Ginners in the country have received a total of 10.72 million bales by April 15 against 9.76 million bales during the corresponding period last year. US cotton exports forecast to grow 53% in 2016-17

US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has predicted that country may note growth in its cotton exports in 2016-17.
