Apparel House available to Industry for display during Tex-Trends at a nominal fee of Rs. 5000 for five days

In a step forward to promote the original concept of Apparel House as a dynamic sourcing zone, the managing body of the AEPC has decided to keep the showrooms open for buyers from 16th to 20th July, dates that coincide with the dates of the Tex-Trends India fair happening at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 16th to 18th July. To encourage larger showroom opening, than the current occupied number of 87 showrooms it was decided that vacant showrooms may be provided to non showroom holders who are interested to showcase their products at Apparel House at the rate of Rs. 5000 + Service Tax for 5 days. Indeed this is an interesting proposition for exporters to avail the world class infrastructure at the Apparel House while promoting their business.
Apparel House is the home of 250 garment showrooms in Gurgaon

The showroom owners are very upbeat and are asking the industry to participate in large numbers so that buyers visiting the Tex-Trends and also buying offices in and around Gurgaon find it worthwhile to visit the showrooms during the market week. “At such low rates it makes complete commercial sense for exporters to setup shop at the showrooms for the market week. If he participates at other sourcing fairs, lakhs of rupees are required. On the other side, if buyers are assured of 180-200 showroom openings, it is interesting for them to have a look,” reasons Harpreet Singh, showroom holder. The showrooms will be provided basic infrastructure like light and AC, the rest like chairs, tables, display racks etc. can be hired from an appointed contractor for the event.

The lack of publicity to the Apparel House has been a bone of contention between the showroom owners and the AEPC for the last five years. However, the new management team led by AEPC Chairman, A. Sakthivel has taken a proactive stance. Showroom holders who were present at the meeting are hopeful that all the commitments made will be fulfilled. “We have been promised that advertisements regarding holding of Market Days at Apparel House will be published in the Fair Guide of Tex-Trends India and the same will also be included in the 3rd E-blast. Further, it was also decided that wide publicity of Apparel House events would be given along with all other domestic and international events of AEPC,” informs Sushil Agarwal, another showroom holder and MD of Eves Fashion.

Rajiv Kapoor, MD of Affordable Exports is confident that if the venue pulls up one good event, buyers will respond positively and ask for more such market weeks in the future. “Our only aim is to utilize our investment in the showrooms to an optimal level and generate business for the industry.”
