Invista’s Cordura brand has collaborated with Nuremberg Metropolitan Region-based global leader in producing worsted spun yarn for weaving, circular and flat knitting, Südwolle Group to create a variety of merino wool yarns blended with nylon 6.6. The new yarn is claimed to offer enhanced abrasion resistance, as well as tear and tensile strength in finished fabric constructions.
The ‘Cordura X Merino’ yarns have been developed for the creation of a variety of woven and knitted fabrics, with the natural comfort and thermoregulation benefits of wool in combination with the durability of nylon.
Constructed using nylon 6.6 staple fibre technologies, the fabrics are designed to be used in traditional everyday essential apparel applications such as men’s suits, school uniforms, outdoor active sports gear and professional corporate wear, where there is a need for strong, soft, comfortable, and long-lasting clothing.
