Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, has opened its gates today in Shanghai. The fair is taking place at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre and will be up till 17th March 2017. The show is also having an India Pavilion and eight Chinese regional Pavilions.
Around 200 domestic and international exhibitors have come together to showcase an impressive selection of finished products. These include: bedding, duvets, pillows, towelling, carpets, rugs and many more. The organisers have also added the hall due to an increased number of womenswear and accessories exhibitors, and to a lesser extent, functional fabrics suppliers.

To cater to different sourcing needs, the organisers have created seven theme zones, which include Bedding & Interior Decoration Products Zone; Brand Bedding Products Zone; Towel Products Zone; Machinery Equipment Zone; Upholstery Fabrics Zone; Finished Curtains Zone and Designers’ Studio.
Besides product sourcing, the fair is also hosting Tmall to create a valuable learning platform for the industry. Various seminars are scheduled to be held to help educate the industry on the latest consumer trends and product buying habits. It may be mentioned here that Tmall, owned by the Alibaba Group, is China’s largest B2C online retail marketplace with a market share of around 50 per cent.
As per the organizers there are four representatives from India also, including Anubav Fabrics, Karur; Balavigna Weaving Mills, Dindigul; Paramount Textile Mills, Madurai and Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL). Event’s Autumn Edition will be organized from 23 to 26th August, 2017.
