Indian apparel exporter Gokaldas Exports Limited (GEL), which has an annual turnover of Rs. 113,749 lakh and 25,000 direct employees in 23 units all over the country, will expand its manufacturing units in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh.
The company recently signed an MoU with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for setting up four apparel manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh over the next three years in Chittoor District, involving an investment of approximately Rs. 200 crores, which is likely to generate nearly 5,000 new jobs.

“The investment is however subject to such terms and conditions as requested and sought by Gokaldas Exports, including appropriate infrastructural support and relevant incentives and subsidies being made available to GEL with the Government of Andhra Pradesh,” the company said.
It may be noted here that annually GEL produces 21 million garments with export to more than 30 countries and with the plan of setting up new manufacturing units, the company will enhance its production capacity by up to 14 per cent per annum.
