Triburg Center for Learning An idea whose time has come
Education > 16 Jul 2010 : Over the last 30 years, Triburg has trained and nurtured some of the most respected professionals in the apparel export industry. Training is an intrinsic part of the company’s ethos, so it is only natural that Triburg should start an education and training initiative for the industry. This new initiative is called the Triburg Center for Learning. In the next few months, the Center will be launching several other programs for more experienced professionals as well as programs for production, quality and design professionals. Survey in the NCR Challenges in Apparel Logistics
Education > 17 Mar 2010 : The apparel export business has always faced the challenge of meeting deadlines and maintaining a lead time which is becoming shorter day by day with the advent of fast fashion where the retailers are trying to get the manufacturing of the merchandise done much closer to the selling season. This is pushing all the members of the supply chain to optimize performance. The NCR (The National Capital Region of India) is one of the important export hubs of apparel business. Since the region does not have proximity to sea port, the export houses, buying houses and freight forwarding companies of this region often face operational and infrastructural challenges. A survey of 20 companies involving Regional Managers (Operations) and Shipping & Documentation heads of various garments export/buying houses in and around NCR was carried out under Anupama Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Fashion Technology, NIFT, New Delhi on how to manage logistic supply chain more efficiently to contribute significantly in reducing lead times. The excerpts of the survey are shared with the readers.
